Starbucks Frappuccino Recipe

To lazy to run out to Starbucks?  Got some stale coffee from the morning cold in the pot?  Here's how to make a Starbucks style Frappuccino:

  • 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup low-fat milk
  • 2 cups ice
  1. Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker: That should be 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
  2. To make drink, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.

I never said I was a "fan" of Starbucks, I still stand by my statement that it's overcooked and tastes burnt, so I'd never drink their coffee black (tried it once, never again).  That being said, the really strong burnt taste is great for the whippy, frippy drinks that they like to push on consumers - lates and frappuccinos taste weak if they have no backbone to work from.

Point #2, my recipe doesn't call for Starbucks, it'll work with any coffee, just wanted to give my audience a reference as I know lots of people order Starbucks frappies in the summer.
