We're half way through February already and it only seems like yesterday that the family took off for a vacation in Florida. This coming Thursday I meet Lisa, Simon, and Bella in South Carolina - I am quite looking forward to the trip, being a bachelor is ok for a short period, but after a while I start to get lonely, so I'll be happy when we're all together again. I am sure I am not the only one looking forward to the family's return - Cadence (the dog) is itching to have someone play with her during the day whilst I am at the office.
My birthday came and went (last week), the big day (can I still call it the "big day" at the young age of 32?) happened to coincide with a conference, which I had to attend for work - so no lazy morning or day off this year - I had to be down town in DC for 7:30am - ouch.
I powered up the TV last night and wondered why my Media Center PC was not operating - after a quick investigation I noticed a problem with the server (argh, and I am trying so hard to get away from PC maintenance). When I opened the case a lot of dust fell out, followed by the corpse of what looked like a dead moth. I am guessing that the little critter got in through one of the open grills and then end up being diced in the CPU fan. Unfortunately, something bad must of happened because the PC would no longer boot - so I spent my evening last night swapping out hardware and fixing the operating system. I'm starting to wonder if life without TV would be much simpler.
Since I am traveling at the end of this week, I have had to make up time in my work schedule - the last couple of days have been extremely busy. The weather here is not so good - mix of snow and ice rain, so I've been doing the best I can to make sure that I get to the office and home again safely. Today the office closed early on account of the weather, from the office window I watched everyone pile out and sit in a large traffic jam - I figured it would be a good time to catch up some hours, so I stuck around until later into the evening.
