It's been a busy week, and a hell of a busy day. All my efforts this week led up to a presentation I was scheduled to give today over lunch. The problem I have with giving standup talks on technical themes is actually making sense of and articulating the topics I am presenting. Most audiences of these types of presentations attend to learn something new, so the trick is to know something new, articulate the new technology well, answer questions correctly, and to make sure all the demonstrations work properly. I think the whole deal went over quite well, a number of people have stopped by to say thank you and to congratulate me on an interesting presentation. I spoke about Mobile Device Development, which is always a fun topic of conversation because people love information, and more than that they love information on their portable devices.
Lisa and the kids took off for Florida today with my Father-in-Law, so it's just me, the dog, cats, rabbit, and chicken - should be plenty of company for a few days. When the family go off to FL in winter it's usually party time for a few days (eating pizza, drinking beer and uninterrupted movie time) but after a couple of days being the bachelor I really start to miss them all. Usually the book I am reading to Simon and Bella gets put on hold until they return, and I start to miss having Lisa around to talk to after a few days of no comment from the dog.
Plans for tonight:
1. Feed Cats.
2. Feed Rabbit.
3. Feed Dog.
4. Medicate Dog.
5. Feed Chicken.
6. Feed myself.
7. Open and consume beer.
8. Open another beer and consume.
9. Open yet more beer and consume.
10. Watch movies until I cannot stay awake.
11. Crash, and try not to be late for work in the morning.
