It's been a busy weekend, just not for me 
. I received a call on Friday from a contractor, asking if he could come this weekend to install the tile in our basement (I'd forgot that it was the 14th already). So I hastily went to work on Friday night clearing out any remaining furniture and bleaching the floor. Apparently, I almost suffocated everyone in the house because the bleach fumes circulated the house and into the bedrooms - oops.
The contractors worked long hours on Saturday and Sunday and have almost finished the job. All that remains is grouting on the tile, scheduled for next Saturday.
Simon and I used some of our weekend time to change the oil on Lisa's car (well, I changed the oil, he asked questions). I've changed oil on cars before, so the job was no big deal. Only problem was that I noticed a spare washer in the oil pan as I was dumping the old oil - darn, the washer was needed on the sump pan nut. So I had to empty the engine again, put the washer back on and refill the car. So, effectively I changed the oil twice.
Today we took down the last of the Christmas decorations - the exterior ones, and put them away for another year in the garage. Since we were having so much fun outside (and the rain was holding off) I pulled the bikes out, filled the tires with air and cleaned off the cobwebs. Hopefully I'll be able to attach the kid trailers to each bike and take the kids for a ride with Lisa.
Since the basement has been off bounds this weekend it has been the perfect excuse not to do any wash - I'll tackle it next week while Lisa, Simon, and Bella are in Florida.
Time to bath the kids, we're off out to dinner tonight - both Lisa and I are done cooking and Simon has a hankering for French Fries (he wanted them for breakfast this morning).
