Garretts' World

Happenings in the world of the Garretts'

Sunday 12/3 Cont.

Busted my back lifting 40 boxes of tile from the garage to the basement, but I am happy it's all in the right place now.  It's looking good that we will have the basement finished for Christmas, so if we have friends over to stay for the holidays then we'll have some space.

Lisa had rented Domino from Netflix, so after making a cup of tea, slicing a piece of cake, and sitting my ass on the couch it was time to watch - inserted the disc into the player and received a "no disc" error.  Plopped another disc in the player, same problem.  This'll be the second Daewoo multi-region player that has broken on me in just over a year.  I inserted the Domino disk into the computer and the laptop started going berserk, telling me that it wanted to install some software - hmmm, wondering if this is one of those disks with copy protection on them.

When the complicated hi-tech DVD players fail I can always rely on my portable no-thrills, plays-everything player.  Rigged up the portable to the TV and was able to watch Domino with no further problems - any of you who like ass-kicking movies will enjoy this movie, what's more, it's based on a true story (sort of).

Lisa and I found the Adrian Mole diaries on the UK Penguin online bookstore, so I'll probably end up ordering the books missing from my set directly from the publisher, rather than EBay.

Current Mood:    cranky
