Happenings in the world of the Garretts'

Saturday 12/1

Happy Birthday Mum (Mom).

It's been a productive day.  A couple of contractors came over early this morning to give us an estimate on tiling the basement (it's only been a year and a half) - they seems competent and very knowledgeable, and promised that we could have a finished basement by Christmas - yay.

Headed over to the local John Deere outlet for a "photo with Santa".  Simon loves this event because he can spend all morning trying out the riding mowers and the gators.  The Santa thing.... well a small inconvenience to mingle around tractor machinery.  Bella loved it all, especially the part where the queue for Santa went passed the cookie tables.  Simon has always been the tractor lover in the family, but today we found out that Bella may have the same passion, because we could not get her off one of the riding gators without big tears and a sad face.

Liz came over this afternoon and help us pack away the basement (ready for the contractors) and to hang lights.  I found it easier to hang the lights off the side of the house by climbing on the roof, rather than hanging off a ladder.

Looking forward to Chinese take-away this evening - slurp.
