It's Sunday evening, the kids are in bed, I have a glass of wine in
hand, and I thought this would be as good as time as any to write a
blog post.
This weekend the family and I went to "children's day" at a local park
and gardens. This was definitely an event for a double stroller
(note to single people - a double stroller is an SUV version of the
regular sized "carry-my-kid's-ass-around-buggy"), which fortunately we
picked up one before attending the event. Lisa and Simon spent a
lot of the time checking out the events, while Isabella and I hung out
in the shade, eating sandwiches. Whilst Simon was enjoying
running off, with Mom in tow, and I was mid-ham-and-cheese, a
photographer from the Washington Post approached us and asked if we'd
mind pictures taken of Simon for the paper. I haven't yet seen
the pictures, but it looked like the photographer got some great action
shots of Simon having fun among the flora.
Before we left the gardens, we happened upon a showing of
Flumpa the
Frog - a scary looking, dancing frog, which teaches science in song to
children.
Simon, and the gathering of kids surrounding the stage, seemed to like
Flumpa - so whoever was in the 10ft frog suit in 90 degree heat, must be doing something right.
