Lisa is still in the hospital, and is due to check out on Thursday of
this week. I
went to visit both her and Isabella yesterday evening after work. It's
quite amazing how much I missed them both in less than 24 hours. In a
really short space of time I have become quite attached to our new baby
- she is so cute.
Isabella is doing great, yesterday she spent most of the day with Lisa,
in
the ward, and a short time in the nursery. Lisa is doing wonderfully
well also, the pain meds had worn off by the time I arrived, but this
didn't prevent Lisa from being mobile. Lisa and I chatted for a few
hours while I got in plenty of "baby holding time" with my daughter.
We completed the reams of paperwork that is required by the hospital
before going home, so we're in great shape for tomorrow.
I left the hospital about 9pm (kicking out time) and called in to the local
Wal-Mart
on the way home. I had uploaded pictures of Isabella to
Wal-Mart's photo processing
web site earlier in the day, and so I was eager to see
how the prints came out. I typically do not process my pictures into
print, and just upload them to my own picture
web site,
but in this
case I wanted pictures in hand so that I could show off pictures of my daughter to people who were not
in
front of a computer screen - gosh I'm such the proud Father. I
ordered two sets of prints because my Father-in-law's camera broke down
on Monday, and I know he was bummed about not capturing any of the good
pictures.
I snapped some more pictures whilst in the hospital yesterday, but on
account of being sleepy last night, I have yet to upload them. I plan
on taking some more this evening and uploading them when I arrive home
tonight.
Simon was still up and awake when I arrived home last night (my Mother
in-law did a great job of looking after him while I was away). I was so
pleased to see him, and gave him a big hug from me, and one from his
Mom, who also misses him. I'm sure every new parent, for the
second time,
wonders if they'll love the 2
nd as much as the 1
st, or if they'll not
have the same love for the 1
st as they do now for the 2
nd, but I now know that love doesn't work like that - Love for your children isn't finite, it just
grows so there is plenty to go around.
