The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom.
A story about an 83 year old war veteran who dies and awakens in the
afterlife, where he learns that heaven is a place where your earthly
life is explained to you by five people who were in it. The people may
have been loved ones or strangers, yet each of them changed your path
forever.
From what Lisa tells me, this book has some profound parts to it. Such as this excerpt about parenting...
All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like
pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents
smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged
little pieces, beyond repair.
I like to keep Simon's childhood free of smudges, cracks, and any
breakages. Hopefully in years to come he'll agree that I handled him
with love and care.
When Lisa is done with this book I think I'll read it.
