Started the weekend off riding for
Saddle Guys and Gals,
this week we started practicing complete drills. It was easier
than I first thought, I'd checked out the drills on paper, but couldn't
visualize them until I ran through them on Nanza (my steed).
After 2 hours, my arse (ass) and legs certainly knew what I'd been
doing and they had no issues with telling me about it. Nanza and I
finished our last drill before some of the others, whilst undoing her
tack, Nanza had to make me aware that there was no way on Earth that
she was going home without her stable pals, who were still working in
the arena. I finally understood what she wanted when she stepped on my
foot, slipped her halter and went to see her owner. Fortunately
she didn't go too far [phew].
Saturday afternoon I worked in the
garden. I officially started mowing this weekend because the lawn
was starting to look a little shaggy. After playing with the tractor I
helped Lisa set up a new fence for her garden. Simon did a great
job of watching and playing foreman, in between trying to climb up the
slide backwards on the jungle gym.
After eating and putting Simon to bed I caught up with the
24, so now I'm current with the latest episode.
Sunday
morning - I had big plans to get up at 6am with Simon and drive on over
to Howard County Fairgrounds to watch a couple of my SG&G team
members open the
MWHA show.
When the alarm kicked in at 6am I just couldn't seem to move, mainly
because I was sore from Saturday's riding, but also because the bed was
so snuggly and I was so very sleepy. Lisa, Simon and I all got up at
about 9am instead, and after a spot of breakfast, went to work out in
the garden some more.
Quited on the garden at noon, after getting burnt and sore some more.
Sunday
afternoon - we all went off to a friend's house, who was hosting a
surprise baby shower for Lisa. We had a great time, and received
lots of lovely gifts - many thanks to everyone who came and arranged
the event. Our friends catered ziti for main course and cake for
dessert
