Garretts' World

Happenings in the world of the Garretts'

March 19/20 Weekend

Another busy weekend. I attended my first Saddle Guys & Gals riding clinic on Saturday morning. This was the first meeting of the year with 13 of the 14 riders with horses, I rode Nanza, a 20 year old mare. Practice went well, Nanza has been part of the drill team for 4 years in a row, and since this was my first time she knew the routines better than I did. I had a blast learning maneuvers like the zipper, the wheel and the ladder. We meet next week for another clinic, which kicks off with an Easter egg hunt for the holiday. Hopefully Lisa and Simon will come along to watch and take pictures Wink.

Whilst I was riding at the clinic, Lisa hosted a Mommy and Baby party for a few friends. I got back just after lunch in time to see the end and to savor the backed goodies. I then spent the remainder of Saturday afternoon chilling out and catching up on Season 4 of 24.

Sunday AM: I called my folks over breakfast to catch up on life on the other side of the pond. My niece, Molly, who is 6 months is starting to walk.
Lisa, Simon and I went to 11am mass at the local church. Being Palm Sunday, the place was packed and the mass long. Simon wasn't too keen on sitting for too long so he and I took frequent breaks to the back of the church to walk about a bit. During the time spent at the pews Simon was keenly interested in the song books and how they were stored in the boxes of the pews in front. For a whole 30 minutes he took the books out and then put them back in, never losing interest the whole time.

Simon, on his way to church.

Sunday PM: Went to lunch at my favorite diner. We got back to the house about 2pm, just in time to catch my neighbor John, who was going to collect hay for his barn. I changed and went along to help out.
I took a nap middle afternoon, which turned into a marathon nap, I woke up about 7pm and couldn't decide whether I wanted to continue sleeping through 'til morning or get up an eat. Simon got up (he was napping too) so I got up with him and we ate some pasta for dinner. I've noticed that Sunday afternoon naps are starting to become frequent for me, now that I'm 30 I guess I need more energy than before Wink
