Woke up really early this morning. Alarm went off at 5am as per normal,
and of course I went back to sleep not expecting to surface for at
least another 30 minutes. Simon must have heard my alarm because he
started to cry, so I got up to see why - I think he was cold, so I
covered him with blankets and he went back to sleep. As for me, it was
5:10am and I figured I'd get up and get to work early.
Down in the kitchen 5:30am making coffee... The only coffee available
is decaffeinated, which is good because I don't drink caffeine, right?
Ahem, What do I spy in the cupboard, but a stray can of
red bull-
oh dear, I just couldn't stop myself, the can kept talking to me and
telling me that I needed to open it (yeah, that excuse will work), and
then once open the can told me to drink it. For those of you who think
that 5:30am is still the middle of the night, you should understand
that at that time of morning there is no such thing as will power. Even
though I'm vertical, shaved, showered and ready for work at this
ridiculous time of the morning, I'm still a sleep. So I'm usually
searching for anything that will make
the separation anxiety, caused from being away from pillow, to go away.
The red bull certainly did the trick, they say red bull has wings, well
I managed to fly to work with no issues this morning.
Lisa and Simon are back from their trip to Florida, recharged and full
of energy. I met them both at the airport gate yesterday. I was
excited to see them after they had been away for three weeks. It may
have just been my perception but Simon looked like he'd grown in the
time he'd been away. Lisa, had definitely grown - she's expecting a
baby girl in June.
