Hardwood Floors Installed

Horrah, the hardwood floor has been fitted in our living room and dining room at last. We've been meaning to get this job done since last summer. The contractor that fitted our floor did a great job in making the floor match the existing hard wood that runs throughout the kitchen and hallway.

Here's some pictures...

Who stole all the furniture?

I see a stocked bar in the corner...

On to the next job, tiling the basement... I think I'll have a stab at this one myself, rather than paying a contractor. Watch this space for the sun to start Smiley

I would recommend considering the tiling a bit before doing it yourself... I was talking with someone today and they were telling me that they'd tried it, and found it extremely easy to do a shoddy job. You have to line each tile up in three dimensions perfectly (two dimensions of tiles lining up in a matrix, plus the third dimension of height). You also have to make sure each is level. He had found a contractor for a reasonable price, which I may be able to find for you if your interested. Not sure if he works up there, though -- the guy I was talking to lives out in Delaplane.
