Phew! It's been a fast paced few days. Lisa and Simon have been in Florida for almost a week now - the week has flown by.
I got back on a horse for the first time in a year and a half last
Sunday. I decided that I need to get some practice in the saddle before
doing any serious riding for
Saddle Guys & Gals this summer, so I
asked my friend John if he'd mind me saddling up on one of his
steeds for a couple of hours (see my earlier
post
about signing up). John educated me about Western saddle riding, up
until now I'd only ever ridden English (accept for one instance in LA
when I rode the
Hollywood trail). We saddled up
Phil and I rode Western in the arena for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, John saddled up
Vegas with
English. We followed with a trail ride, I rode Vegas and John rode
Phill.
Sunday night I went to my friend Anton's apartment to play
Halo 2 and
eat pizza. I really need to get some much need practice in playing Halo
2, the guys slaughtered me. Later we all went out drinking (ahem)....
Next week we're having the dining room and main room of our house
renovated. Contractors are coming to install a hard wood floor, so I've
been using most of this week to empty the rooms of furniture and
nick-knacks. The china cabinet and bar are done, next I'm set to work on
the bookshelves.
Funny thing happened this morning - I bumped into (metaphorically
speaking) an ex-work colleague, on the beltway that circles Washington
DC, this morning. This is like the third time that I've spotted friends
or work colleagues whilst traveling to work. It's really funny to see
their reaction when I honk them and wave.
Work's been busy this week. My project gained a new project manager on
Monday, so I've been working closely with him throughout this week.
