Another weekend passes by, only this one was special - On Saturday I
turned 30, yes, I'm no longer in my 20's and therefore must now be
considered as approaching middle age. According to the warranty, which
came bundled with the rest of the paperwork at my birth, says "after the humanoid reaches an age
of 30 years
creator of man will no longer guarantee against
mechanical defects, and any minor complaint of aches and pain will be
attributes to wear and tear".
Friday was a good day, I attended my wife's first sonogram (first for
Baby #2) appointment. Last time around, with Simon, we decided that we
wanted to wait until birth day to find out what the sex our first
offspring was to be, but this time we decided to avoid the suspense and
finds out - we're having a baby girl! I'm so thrilled.
My birthday (Saturday) went well. Got up late, was greeted in bed with
coffee and birthday cards. Spent the morning watching TV, hanging out
and playing with Simon. In the evening my wife took me out to a super
restaurant - a cute Italian place called
Volare.
The food was excellent, all the pasta was made in-house, but best of
all, at 6pm on a Saturday evening we were seated immediately, no "1-2
hours sir!".
Sunday, got up at 9am, hung out with Simon and Lisa, watched some of
Red Dwarf Series 2.
Lisa brought me series 1 and 2 for my birthday, as well as a cool
drinks mixer and a kick ass huge thermos. I brought my thermos
(pictured below) to work this morning, (full of coffee - scary), which
woke up the metal detector and gave the security guards something to
laugh at. My thermos is so well built that I think it'll out live me
and last through a nuclear war

.
Sunday evening - I went to
Chris's house to watch the
Super bowl and play
Halo 2.
Chris and his wife Angela served up some great wings and chicken
nuggets during the game - slurp. Sunday was the first time I'd ever
played Halo 2, I played with Anton, Curt and Chris, and of course got
creamed, but it was a lot of fun

.
Got home about midnight, quick 5 hour nap (ouch) and then it's back to work this morning....
