Today, I went to the races at Pimlico raceway in Baltimore, MD to celebrate my friend Dave's last week as a bachelor. Dave, Tom, Rick, John (Dave's buddies) and myself piled into a car and headed off to Baltimore this morning ready to loose some greenbacks on the nags.
The day went great, we won some races and lost some, but had a bundle of fun doing so. We all enjoyed watching the horses being brought out on the track, checking the odds and then running off to make a bet.
So many times we were close to winning races with the “long-shot“. My favorite line of the day came from Rick - “YES! YES! Number 8 is coming around, I could win big!.... oh wait, where did he go?“.
John concluded the day as being the proudest because he managed to come out ahead with more cash than he went with, for the rest of us... alas we had lighter wallets :)
