Asking for candy was a big hit. Once Simon understood that the candy being put in his pumpkin was for him he soon got the knack of looking cute to relieve the neighbors of their sweet goodies.
Dad lost points when he ate the only "3 Musketeers" candy bar - the one candy Simon could actually eat, lucky for me that I went out and brought Simon another in the after Halloween candy sale.
